This week Andrew Fuhrmann reviews a major survey of one of RealTime’s very favourite artists, Christian Thompson, seen above. Elsewhere, it’s time to pop on the headphones for excerpts from Philip Samartzis’ Antarctic explorations and human and avian duets from Hollis Taylor’s Absolute Bird CD, as well as Julian Day’s engaging Poles in our Critical Video series. Liquid Architecture is on a roll with two events, Polyphonic Social and Danger Magic, that push listening out of the ordinary. Sadly, art criticism continues to take a battering as newspapers decline and the national broadcaster fails to invest; this week the ABC’s Triple J does it on the cheap.
